December Challenge
We run monthly challenges and announce them on our website, on social media, and now in this monthly newsletter.
The December Challenge features a longer track than usual (Zandvoort) in the track-ready Mazda ND MX5 Cup. This is the reace-ready version of mazda’s iconic two-seater.
The MX-5, known in North America as the Miata, is probably the most popular race car on the planet. Those who know, know. However, surprising number of folks out there don’t know. We aim to change that.
Last month we had a track that was dead flat. For this month, I wanted a track that “flowed”. I settled on Zandvoort for the track and the MX-5 Cup for the car.
What became clear to me is that 15 minutes wouldn’t be enough time for most folks to get up to speed on Zandvoort, so we are offering some special pricing to encourage folks to give it a shot.
- Two 15-minute practice sessions, and one official timed run.
- $20 eSports
- $30 Deluxe
As usual, the winner will receive a one-month Unlimited Membership.
Memberships and Loyalty
We are implementing a new Loyalty program to replace our current membership system. We’ve always imagined TBZ as a social space, and we want to encourage folks to hang around and mingle.
We have simplified our membership offerings to two: Tire Kicker and Unlimited. The Tire Kicker continues to offer one free hour of racing for $55/mo, and the Unlimited membership now offers unlimited drop-in racing for $200/mo. Both programs are available when you sign up in person. Going forward, memberships will renew monthly.
For challenge winners, we will continue to offer free sim time for P2 and P3 finalists, but it will not be tied to a membership.
Around the shop
We have been working hard to improve our shop and equipment to benefit both walk-in and member customers. In November we:
- Made our car and track content are available to browse on-site.
- Replaced a malfunctioning wheel that occasionally missed shifts.
- ABS and Traction control adjustments are now available on the steering wheel.
- We now have Hunter Fiber internet on-site!
- This opens up the possibility of online racing. Please contact in advance, via email or or phone if interested, or take our Survey
New Booking System
The feedback was clear: folks didn’t like our online booking system, so we’ve been working hard to fix it!
We will be launching the new booking system soon. It is developed in-house by us, and integrates better with the rest of our software. This should make the experience better for everyone, whether you book in advance or drop by spontaneously.
Race Night
We are looking to begin a regular race night starting in January. Please contact us if you are interested.
Merchandise
We have merch! Visit our online store for t-shirts, hoodies, sun shades, glassware, and more!
Holiday Hours
We are open Wednesday through Sunday, 12pm to 8pm (12pm-6pm on Sundays). We will be closed December 24-26 for the Christmas holiday, but will be open as usual for New Year’s. Interested in booking a holiday party? Call or email us at info@braking.zone for more information.
Please Take our Survey
We promise it won’t take long! We want to make TBZ the best time you can have away from a racetrack, and we need your feedback to make that happen.
