Continued Improving Our Booking System…

Our custom-built booking website now handles membership hours and discounts automatically; however, our payment system limits us to a single discount at a time. For those Members who want to use a coupon code or gift card, you need to un-check the “Automatically apply eligible discounts” box.

Hint: Memberships are still the best discounts we offer.

Added Voice Chat…

Drivers can now chat with each other using a network voice chat system. No more peeling off one earpiece so you can shout at the person next to you! Just speak aloud, like a normal person.

This also should improve the coaching experience, to the degree that we informally do such things.

If you experience audio issues, or prefer to mute the mics, just tell our staff.

Ran a long and grueling February Challenge…

The February Challenge featured the most infamous track in motorsport — the Nordschleife.

At over 20 kilometers of twists, elevation changes, and blind crests, this is a true test of endurance and precision. Paired with the BMW M3 E30 Gr.A ‘92, the combo both rewards and punishes commitment.

Noah set a blistering 7:22, a time that Yours Truly can only admire with envy from distance. But I still managed to shave a few seconds over the month thanks to our generous policy of Unlimited official timed runs, which is a first for us.

Special congrats to Jerry for the last-minute lap which moved him several spots up on the board. Persistence pays off!

Ran a simple and fun March Challenge…

Well, after the slog of trying to learn and then master Nordschleife, I wanted something a bit more “approachable” for March.

This challenge featured the West Coast’s most beloved track, Laguna Seca. Who doesn’t love Laguna? But also, how to make it feel fresh?

After a string of vintage cars, I decided we needed something that was at least “recent”, if not “modern”. I recalled the Pagani Zonda from Top Gear, so I guess it isn’t that recent — But still, it’s not a ’70s F1 car, or ’80s DTM car, so let’s call it “modern”.

The “challenge” ultimately resulted from our customary elimination of ABS and Traction Control: the brakes become really touchy, and the top-end power comes on like a ton of bricks.

Last but not least…

We are now a proud sponsor of the Emerald Empire Sports Car Club.

We’ll have our booth there for Autocross Rounds 1&2 next month. We also hope to have the official TBZ Corvette as well. I’m working my butt off to get it ready, but it needs a lot of work. Wish me luck!
